MALE RED GROUSE
A quick trip up to Yorkshire hoped to catch the approachable Red Grouse near Grinton with the heather in full bloom. Unfortunately most of the Heather had already gone over but there was still enough to give some colour to the pictures. Luckily two male Red Grouse must have still thought it was spring as they came to defend their territory as soon as we drove into them. One allowed us to get out of the car and take full frame shots with the 100mm end of my 100-400mm zoom. This, together with a superb second morning, meant I had at last got some reasonable pictures of Red Grouse on my third visit to the area.
