LATEST IMAGES - FINLAND2
One of the highlights of the trip was an excursion to one of the few high points around Kuusamo for sunrise images with snow covered trees. This was one of the coldest mornings, the temperature reading -27oC as we set off in the dark. At the top we found three Siberian Jays that were obviously very hungry and used to getting feed from the hikers. We spent a couple of hours photographing them against the lovely landscape. Our two biggest problems were trying to download the digital images to the portable storage devices, the batteries of both would not cope with the low temperatures, and trying to eat our frozen sandwiches..
