A photography teaching commission took me down to the Somerset Levels recently but luckily there was also time to take pictures at the RSPB Reserve of Ham Wall. The Mute Swans were very obliging and they gave me an opportunity to try out our repaired 1D Mark11  which thankfully worked a treat.

I was pleasantly surprised to see so many Little Egrets on the reserve and was fortunate to take this one in flight as I had a 500mm lens plus a X2 extender on the camera at the time trying for a portrait shot. The 1D Mark11 still managed to track the Egret and keep it in focus.

As we left the reserve we spotted this Roe Deer from the road and took half a dozen shots before it decided to take cover in the long vegetation.
