More Whooper Swans were arriving every day at Caerlaverock WWT Reserve and it was great to hear them calling to each other on the ponds. There was also quite a bit of aggression between the family groups although it didn't look too serious. There were two family groups with five young and there had been reports of one group on the Icelandic breeding grounds with eight young which we were told would be a record if the parents managed to get all eight to the UK.
