Skomer Island provided me with plenty of opportunities to try out our recently acquired 400mm IS DO and 70-300mm IS DO lenses on birds in flight. While the lenses were not quite as quick focusing as our favourite 500mm IS lens they were a lot lighter and performed adequately. I was particularly lucky to photograph one of the resident Short Eared Owls.
