We were hoping to take images of the Barnacle Geese on Islay in flight into lovely sunrises and sunsets but unfortunately, we saw very little of the sun. We had to make do with a few brief glimpses with even less when the geese were coming to and from the roost at Loch Gruinart. The sound of thousands of geese taking off as one, really has to be heard to be believed, however, this was often when it was too dark for photography.
