The recent glorious weather after a long cold spell coincided with the flight time of the Pearl Bordered Fritillary butterfly. A few trips to a local site produced some reasonable images although neither of us would claim to be an expert butterfly photographer. The Pearl Bordered differs from the Small Peal Bordered in having an earlier flight time, being slightly bigger and having less 'pearls' in the middle of its under wings.
