At both Kanha and Banhavgarh National parks tiger were very sparse and difficult to see. There are many jeeps looking out for the tiger and so the chances of seeing one without other jeeps trying to get in front of you were slim. We had one encounter with only one other jeep around which was great although no use photographically as the tiger was always walking away from us. During our 8 days in the reserves we only had one 'Tiger show' where the elephants had tracked a tiger to its day resting place. You could then go on elephant back to view the tiger. Even with a little monetary persuasion we only had five minutes with the tiger and then could only photograph for half that time. There were four people on the elephant and there wasn't enough room to turn around when the pair on the other side of the elephant were facing the tiger. Coupled with the fact the elephant was moving for much of the time photographically it was less than ideal but nonetheless a great experience
