Stac Pollaidh mountain was a definite highlight for us on our recent photographic trip to Assynt. It is only 813 metres high but from the top affords magnificent views of the other Assynt mountains and over Sutherland flow country. We made three ascents trying to capture a good sunrise and sunset and we were lucky in having a half decent sunrise on our second ascent in the dark but missed out on a sunset.
