Capercaillie eat pine needles so not surprisingly they are found in pine forests. Unfortunately the forest in Finland I was photographing Capercaillie had been thinned a few years ago and there was quite a bit of brash on the ground which didn't enhance the images but it was good to see they would still inhabit a managed forest.
