The mountain scenery was surprisingly dramatic on Mallorca. The Mirador above Port De Pollenca looking out to Cape Formentor was one of the best views I found. It was very popular with coach loads of tourists and, later in the day, with three very confiding wintering alpine accentors. On my way back to Palma airport I stopped at the incinerator plant and as well as being surrounded by a flock of sheep where I had parked (just like being home in the Forest of Dean) I was also treated with a very close fly past of one of the Red Kites patrolling the adjacent rubbish tip. All in all I was impressed with Mallorca but definitely need to go back a few weeks later during the migration.
