At the end of last years visit to the Assynt area of Scotland, we felt we had hardly scratched the surface of this remarkable area so we returned again this year a couple of weeks later hoping for some snow on the top of the mountains. Unfortunately we had picked the warmest November on record so no snow, however it did mean we could get about easily and walk the hills safely.
