LATEST IMAGES - ECUADOR19 The star bird at Guango Lodge has to be the Sword-billed Hummingbird with its incredibly long bill. It was a relatively rare visitor to the feeders and quite often the more aggressive hummers drove it off. Fortunately it did come in range of the multi-flash set-up a few times. From Guango Lodge we also visited the Papallacta Antennae, our highest point at over 14,000 feet, for the Rufous-bellied Seedsnipe. The first visit was unsuccessful as the wind was howling and the clouds were so dense visibility was almost nil. The second visit was more productive and we came across a pair of Seedsnipe. Although the wind was less this time, the visibility and rain were no different. Our time in the Scottish Highlands stood us in good stead here and the images needed much work in Photoshop for the bird to appear out of the mist!
