LATEST IMAGES - BOTSWANA15 CHOBE Once we left Pangolin with our late arriving vehicle, our trip changed to great game drives interposed with logistical nightmares and problems with the staff, particularly one individual who was supposedly the leader of trip. The 23 day camping safari was saved by our wonderful driver/guide, Chipo, who not only was a great driver but helped resolve or at least diffuse some of the major issues and by our fellow guest June, an 81 year old American lady who was great fun and thankfully had bought a working inverter with her that we all, including the staff, relied on. We won't say anymore about our problems but suffice to say it was, unfortunately, a relief when we finally made Maun in one piece and could fly home. A big thank you should also go to Patrick at the Waterfront Guesthouse in Maun who provided wonderful accommodation in the middle and the end of our safari and listened to our problems with a sympathetic ear. We spent the first few days of our camping safari alongside the Chobe River further down stream from Pangolin and, as with the rest of the safari, was in an area with very few other visitors. Chacma Baboons were common, especially in the morning, when they came down to the river to drink and the youngsters were a treat to photograph.
