LATEST IMAGES - SKOKHOLM AUGUST5 Being able to see and photograph the diminutive Storm Petrel is a real privilege and thankfully we had a couple of opportunities on our recent visit. We just wished the Storm Petrels were better behaved and would stay on the release wall a bit longer for a photograph before they disappeared back into their dark world! The moonless nights also meant it was good for Milky Way photography so after the Storm Petrels it was out with the tripod and wide angle lens. This type of photography is very much a work in progress for us but great fun especially on a warm summer evening. A juvenile Knot, a rare bird for Skokholm, put in an appearance during our stay and even though it was always very distant we managed some reasonable images especially the flight shots with the trusty 800mm lens.
