TALKS and SHOWS
TALKS continued
Iceland- land of
fire & brilliant birds:
Iceland
is another country we have visited multiple times and we hope this talk will
explain why we love it so much. The landscapes are simply stunning and coupled
with some fantastic bird life (Iceland is the only place in Europe where some of
these species breed) this makes for a highly entertaining talk.
Svalbard and winter
ducks:
This
talk about the Norwegian Archipelago of Svalbard covers some of iconic Arctic
species including Polar Bears, Artic Foxes, Walruses and Little Auks. The main
aim of the trip was to capture images from our ship of Polar Bears on the sea
ice but we encountered some great wildlife on land also. This talk also includes
delightful images of wintering sea ducks taken around Batsfjord on the famous
Verangar Peninsula in Northern Norway.
East African
Wildlife:
A
safari in East Africa is something everyone should do at least once in their
lifetime and we have been fortunate to do a few. This talk covers the main game
reserves in Kenya and Tanzania and includes both birds and animals. It also
includes a few images from our fantastic encounters trekking with Mountain
Gorillas in Rwanda.
In search of
Gorillas:
A
talk dedicated to Gorillas, it covers our experiences searching for, and
spending time with, Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda and Lowland Gorillas in the
Republic of Congo. These were vastly differing experiences as we will explain
during this talk.
A taste of America:
This
talk covers some of our favourite photographic locations in America. It covers a
broad range of wildlife including bears, whales and birds as well as stunning
landscapes. The talk covers locations such as California, Alaska and Michigan.
Canadian Wildlife:
Canada
is a vast country and has some stunning wildlife to see and enjoy. This talk
covers various visits we have made to the country and includes The Great Bear
Rainforest in British Columbia where we had some great encounters with Grizzly
and Black Bears as well as searching for the rare Kermode or Spirit Bear. During
this talk, we also visit Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba where we
found a surprising array of species such as Moose and Raccoons. If time permits
we may also cover one of our worst trips which was to the Barren Lands of
Quebec!
Churchill - Polar
Bears and more:
Churchill,
Manitoba is quite rightly nicknamed the Polar Bear capital of the world as it is
the most reliable location to see these iconic Arctic Bears. This talk covers
visits made in the winter, where we had some great encounters with Polar Bears
and Artic Foxes, and the summer when the tundra was full of bird life and as
well as stunning alpine flowers.
