LATEST IMAGES - CANADA4 We had already visited Churchill in Manitoba Canada a few years ago during the 'Polar Bear Season' but were keen to see it in the summer when many birds use the tundra for breeding. When we arrived we eagerly drove around on the small number of roads looking for these birds. However we were disappointed with the small number of birds we could find and photograph from the vehicle. It was also unusually warm for June and the ice on Hudson Bay had almost disappeared when we arrived. Consequently Polar Bears had arrived on land much earlier than normal which rather restricted our movements over the tundra away from the vehicle. It was great to to see Polar Bears but not good for the Bears as their hunting season had been cut short.
