The feeding of the Demoiselle cranes at Khichan in the Thar Desert is a great sight especially when they are massed in the feeding compound. The noise is almost deafening and the cranes seem to take it in turn to feed as there is not enough room in the compound for all the cranes to feed at once. There are so many cranes flying around that is is difficult to isolate individual birds for flight shots but it is the mass of cranes that is the real spectacle.
