Albatrosses look at home in the air and the Laysan albatrosses on Midway Atoll were no exception. The sheer number of them meant there was ample opportunity to practice flight photography, indeed we said if we didn't get any sharp images we were going to give up wildlife photography! As usual we had a higher success rate with the old Canon 1D MK11 than the latest MK1V which is a sad state of affairs and we wish we could put the MK11 autofocus system in the MK1V.
