LATEST IMAGES - MALLORCA2 Albufera Reserve on Mallorca is tucked behind a long row of not very appealing tourist hotels but is the premier birding spot of the island. There are two main drawbacks, firstly it doesn't open till 9 am and secondly there is a 1.1Km walk from the car park to the best part of the reserve, which is a nuisance with heavy camera gear. I thought the reserve would be good for photography both early and late during the day as there are a number hides placed close to pools . Unfortunately the birds didn't seem to like the pools where the evening light was best so I tended to go to Albufera in the morning and then go somewhere else in the afternoon.
