As mainly wildlife photographers we are used to getting up early to make use of the best light but for landscapes not only do you have to get up early it seems you have to walk up a mountain before first light. Sunsets are easier as all you have to do is walk up a mountain and then down again in the dark! Having said that it is certainly worth the effort and you are left in awe at the beauty and forces involved in sculpting the Icelandic landscape.
