After the snow geese had fed in the morning at Bosque del Apache reserve many of them came to the roosting crane pools in the middle of the day. We were lucky to come across this early in our visit and enjoyed close up views of both snow geese and the smaller Ross's goose. Many of the other photographers had gone back to Socorro for a rest or something to eat so it was especially nice to have the pools almost to ourselves.
